‘Ōlelo’s Application for PEG Access Designation on O‘ahu

February 3, 2012

As 2012 gets underway, I would like to take a moment to thank you for your participation in sharing our local stories through community television.  ‘Ōlelo’s mission is “to strengthen our island voices and advance community engagement through innovative media.”  We can only accomplish this mission with your support.

On October 25, 2011, as required by the DCCA, ‘Ōlelo submitted an application to continue as O‘ahu’s PEG Access provider.  The application reflects the need to ensure that diverse island voices can be heard and that as island residents, you continue to have the production resources to express your views.  To review the application, please select the links below:

‘Ōlelo’s Response to DCCA’s Request for Additional Information

With over 20 years of experience providing video production resources, services and program distribution of unique local perspectives representing  O‘ahu’s Public, Educational and Government (PEG) communities, we hope to continue providing such resources and maintain our community partnerships for years to come.

The DCCA plans to conduct a public hearing of ‘Ōlelo’s application some time this March.  We hope you can attend and share your mana’o with the DCCA on your experience with ‘Ōlelo and what we hope is your desire to have ‘Ōlelo continue to provide these services.  As soon as we are given the date, time and location of the hearing, we will be sure to let you know.
